Bastards....

Sorry, just very upset right now. Their playing like fools. Pitching has gone to the toilet. Edgar's making errors again, Veritek looks tired, Nixon stinks, and...oh wait, I think thats it. So long eastern division title, so close...

Well, unless the Sox get their heads outta their ass'.

Night!

Nixon didn't play tonight; he was scratched last-minute. Shame too, because we could have used the offense while the pitching went to you-know-where in a you-know-what.

I was at the game. The only thing worse than losing is hearing about it from Rays fans.

Oh, I know that Nixon was'nt in the line up. He was'nt feeling well. Even if he was, he sadly isnt really hitting that well either. Really, ever since he came off the dl, he's stunk.

So many things went wrong that could have gone so right. We desperately need to get rid of Renteria. I hope Graff gets better soon, I like having him and Cora at 2b and SS.
Nixon is in a slump and still doing better than Renteria, Varitek, and Olerud.
I miss Bellhorn right now. He'd hit as well as Renteria's been hitting and he could have made the play to get Crawford out. I'm sick of saying "Bellhorn could have done that". I guess Theo is going to have to learn that defense is as important as offense the hard way. Too bad for us.
I'd like to have seen Craig Hansen in one more inning, too. Ahh well.

What's even more sad is that I'm still saying "Cabrera could have done that." :/

Cabrera too. I miss him and his birdlike movements. ANA gets OC and we get Error Renteria both for four years at $40,000. Okay, why didn't we just keep Orlando?
I think DFAing Bellhorn was way too drastic a move. It's almost like the front office had an itch and wanted to exude their power. Graff hits well and he's a fine addition to the team when he can play, but he's always hurt lately. At he tries hard to make plays, but it's not as good as Bellhorn deffensively. And sure we made up offensively, but now the offense isn't looking so hot and we REALLY need to rely on deffense. Mark makes it look so effortless.
Why couldn't we have just kept Bellhorn as back up and keep OC for four years? Bellhorn only had a $2mil contract, it's not like they were burning money, and OC would have cost EXACTLY THE SAME AMOUNT as Reteria.
*head shake* I just don't know anymore.

that's what you get when you've got Theo Epstein as a general manager... sometimes i wonder if he actually knows what he's doing...

Theo's not perfect by any stretch, but it's not his fault that the guys that were performing all season suddenly stopped at the most crucial point of the season.

The team is worn out and tired. The cliche that it's a marathon, not a sprint is deadly accurate...and the Sox are now paying the price for playing 30 games in a row and not being able to take a break because of their inability to beat sub-.500 teams (in their own division) earlier this season or put away games in which they had late leads thanks to the bullpen, specifically Keith Foulke.

They need a day off in the worst way and will finally get one Thursday...but it may be too late.
